The Bamboo Palm is a tropical indoor houseplant that compliments any space. Not to be confused with real bamboo, this plant is low maintenance and easy to care for.

Native to the forests of Mexico and Central America, Bamboo Palms grow in the shade of larger trees unlike other palms, which makes them adaptable to less than ideal lighting conditions. It is a great choice for the home or office because it rates highly on NASA's list of air-purifying plants.

Plant characteristics and uses

• Plant Category/Blooming Period – Indoor Floor Plants/Spring, generally flowering period is 5 months
• Shelf life – 1.5-2 months
• Plant characteristics – likes sunlight, is not cold-tolerant, is more shade-tolerant, and is afraid of the scorching sun.
• Applicable space – indoor environment, bedroom, living room/office/lobby

• Amount of water – It is intolerant of stagnant water. When the soil is dry, it will be soaked with water. Water it twice during the summer growing season.
• Light/illumination – Place it indoors in a brightly lit place, and in winter, place it in a well-lit place
• Fertilization – Apply decomposed liquid fertilizer/compound fertilizer once every 1-2 weeks in summer and autumn, and less/no fertilizer in autumn and winter.
• Pruning – Pruning of naturally aged yellow leaves
• Soil – loose, fertile, well-drained peat soil plus 1/3 river sand/perlite and a small amount of base fertilizer to prepare culture soil for growth.
