The formulation of orchid-specific substrates is based on the selection of different mixtures that meet the growing needs of epiphytes, hemi-epiphytes and orchids.
Orchids are plants that need both ventilation and keeping their roots moist, as they absorb water and what they need to survive through their aerial roots.
For these reasons, pine bark and coconut fiber were chosen as the main ingredients for the orchid-specific substrate. Because these two materials ensure high porosity and excellent drainage of the cultivation substrate, they are optimal for the growth of all orchids and epiphytes, while also storing sufficient water and nutrients for them.
